spring has finally sprung

It's official, its March 21st - and spring has finally sprung!  I need look no further than outside my back door to see buds-a-plenty springing into life - cherry blossom, hydranger and rose bud respectively.

Felt moved by the effects of Spring Fever to have a go a curating my first Etsy Treasury List . . . see link below - "Spring has finally Sprung"

a photo a day keeps the blues away

Our one solitary tulip - standing proud in the sun :)  A promise of more beauty to come.

spring is in the air

With the first day of spring only a couple of days away it is a time for new beginnings.  Time for a new look blog perhaps?

And - ironically, yesterdays leftover curry enjoyed . . . anew!

The bowl was a beautiful unique birthday gift for me many years ago (it has a tiny letter 's' hidden somewhere under the curry!) from talented friend Joanna Rose Boyd. Maker of the most gorgeous ceramic mugs, plates, dishes and jewellery.  Based in Bristol - she is soon to open a shop called 'Makers' with two other talented makers of beautiful and useful things.

normal life returns

Ah - normal life returns.  The school holidays are over.  Been busy wrapping and packing latest etsy Juniper Retro sales :)  Outside of that, itching to do some more sewing and making.  Ran up a couple of birthday presents over the holidays - a shoe bag for one friend  made from fabulous 1970's sheeting fabric  . . .

and a pin cushion from some groovy 1970s apron fabric for another  . . .

Both were also protoypes for additional things to sell on etsy Juniper Retro using vintage fabric - hence the Just Juniper labels!

Randomly took this image on the very last day of the summer holidays - out walking with pumpkin on the common.  Love it.

friends, food and vintage finds

Spent the weekend with old friends from my childhood - and when not blissed out on the big skies of Norfolk -  I ventured into the town of my childhood, where I lived many, many moons ago.   I thought I would visit the charity shops in the far end of town that now boasts a far wider ethnic mix than it ever did - Eastern European, Indian, African, Portuguese - to see what I could find.

However, then comes the endless washing, cleaning and drying of said items.

Most of the above will find their way onto Juniper Retro, my etsy shop, where they can be reloved and rehomed.  This little baby, however,  will be finding a new home with me,  as I love it.

All in all - a lovely weekend of friends, wine, laughter, beaches, good food and thrifting - what more could one want?

super juicing heroics

The dreaded three monthly paperwork day dawns - something I've conveniently forgotten about and put off until now.  Fast approaching deadlines do somehow manage to focus my mind (a little) on the task at hand.  Hoping that the beautifully vibrant concoction below of raw beetroot, carrot, broccoli, apple and ginger will also somehow help kickstart the process - failing that,  I can at least feel just the tiniest bit smug about how healthy (and delicious - no really) my raspberry coloured elixir is.

fab and groovy 70's side plates

Bye bye far-out, fab and funky plates - courtesty of a lovely lady who checked out Juniper Retro on etsy - may your new life be full of fun and laughter!  I know, I know it's absurd - but I do truly wish that.
